Fibromyalgia Support

Born with Fibromyalgia, Dr. Dyan suffered for decades, searching for chronic pain relief, help with sleep and fatigue, and freedom from immune stress and related issues.

For 20 years, beginning in 1993, she worked in a medical office that specialized in the successful treatment of fibromyalgia and other challenging conditions through traditional and alternative healing modalities. There she gained a deep understanding of the physical and psychological components of chronic pain and other mind-body conditions.

In Dr. Dyan’s doctoral dissertation (2000), she looked at personality characteristics of female fibromyalgia patients in physicians offices and fibromyalgia support group participants. She found that the the patients had a significantly higher than normal tendency to process stress in certain emotional ways and to internalize that stress. Interestingly, they also had personality characteristics that correlate with a lower than normal likelihood to complain about pain or discomfort while having a higher than normal pain tolerance. In other words, those patients were probably more sensitive to pain and experienced more pain while complaining less than the average person. Those findings have since been supported by other medical and neurological research studies.

While in graduate school, and following her professional training and supervision in hypnosis, Dr. Dyan developed the self-hypnosis for fibromyalgia strategy that she used to send her own fibromyalgia pain and other fibromyalgia symptoms into remission.

You might be asking:

  • Can hypnotherapy help with fibromyalgia?
  • How can self-hypnosis help alleviate the symptoms of fibromyalgia?

After she found that self-hypnosis was the missing piece that seemed to allow all of her other fibromyalgia diet, medical, and exercise interventions to work together and become effective, Dr. Dyan started to heal rapidly.

She then applied that self-hypnosis for fibromyalgia protocol to patients in the aforementioned medical office and in her own private therapy practice. In 2001, the head of the Behavioral Medicine Clinic at UCLA recruited Dr. Dyan to create personalized hypnosis audios for fibromyalgia patients there.

Additionally, Dr. Dyan has found that her training as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner® (SEP) has deepened her understanding of how the nervous system holds pain and trauma. In her private sessions with clients, she helps people to release trauma and stress and to develop coping skills and self-help healing strategies that empower the individual and promote fibromyalgia healing.

In conjunction with psychotherapy and other mind-body modalities, Dr. Dyan takes a unique approach to designing hypnosis for the management of fibromyalgia symptoms.

Dr. Dyan has also created a comprehensive package of self-hypnosis downloads for sleep. This package consists of seven different self-hypnosis mp3’s, a series of quick How-To Use Your Self-Hypnosis Videos, a full color eBook, and many exclusive bonuses.

In Dr. Dyan’s experience, it can be very helpful to use self-hypnosis downloads for fibromyalgia self care and stress management. She has found that the best self-hypnosis mp3’s for fibromyalgia self help, empower individuals to develop strategies that they can use regularly and on their own as part of a daily routine to improve sleep and energy, coping, pain management, and quality of life.

Here, you can read more about how Dr. Dyan’s own personal struggles with fibromyalgia pain relief, immune, energy, sleep issues, and other health challenges, led to her work as a psychologist and hypnotist and how she healed herself.
